Flick Flow Drama Review: There Is No FlickFlow App — Here Is What You Mean

· Comparison · Store data read October 3, 2026

There is no Flick Flow drama app to review. We searched the App Store on 3 October 2026 and found nothing by that name. What you are almost certainly after is one of two real apps with similar names — FlickReels or FlareFlow — and this page reviews both, side by side, so you can tell which one you meant.

Why there is no Flick Flow drama review

If you came here looking for a Flick Flow drama review, the short answer is that there is nothing to review. We searched the Apple App Store for “FlickFlow” and for “Flick Flow” in the United States and in the Philippines on 3 October 2026. The US search returned Flickr, Insta360 and MUBI. The Philippine search returned nothing at all. There is no short drama app by that name.

What there is: FlickReels and FlareFlow, two separate Singapore-published short drama apps that sit next to each other at seventh and eighth in our ranking of 21 short drama apps. The names blur in memory, both are one-word compounds, and the result is a search for an app that was never made.

This page sorts out which is which, using store data we read ourselves rather than the apps’ own marketing.

How to check whether an app name is real Checking a half-remembered app name, in three steps 1 Search the exact name in your own store Not Google — the store. Google will guess what you meant; the store will not. 2 No match? Split the name and search each half “Flick” finds FlickReels. “Flow” finds FlareFlow. Two apps, one false memory. 3 Read the publisher line before installing FARSUN PTE. LTD. and FlareFlow Pte. Ltd. are different companies.
The same check works for any app in this category, where near-identical names are common.

Size: FlickReels is nine times bigger

Across the four storefronts we checked, FlickReels has collected 131,273 ratings against FlareFlow’s 14,113. That is a ratio of 9.3 to 1, and in the United States alone it is 9.5 to 1.

Rating counts are not download counts, and we will not pretend otherwise. But they are the only per-country figure Apple publishes, and a gap of that size is not noise. FlickReels has been in the store nine months longer, which explains part of it and not all of it.

App Store rating counts, FlickReels against FlareFlow App Store ratings collected, four markets FlickReels FlareFlow US 104,884 11,064 PH 16,832 2,108 GB 5,411 712 India: FlickReels 4,146 · FlareFlow 229. Read 3 October 2026. Rating counts are not download counts.
The gap is consistent across every market we checked, not driven by one country.

The real dividing line is language

This is the single difference that should decide it for most people, and neither app advertises it clearly.

FlickReels declares sixteen interface languages: Arabic, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.

FlareFlow declares one: English.

If English is not your first language, that settles it. If it is, the sixteen buy you nothing and you can ignore the difference entirely — which is why FlareFlow can still compete at all.

It also explains the size gap more honestly than age does. An app available in sixteen interfaces has sixteen routes to a new user; an English-only app has one. FlickReels has been live nine months longer, but a nine-to-one ratio is not nine months of head start.

Where each one is actually liked

Here the picture inverts, and it is the most interesting thing in the data.

MarketFlickReelsFlareFlowWho is ahead
United States4.774.70FlickReels
United Kingdom4.724.61FlickReels
Philippines4.774.83FlareFlow
India4.654.71FlareFlow

FlareFlow — the English-only app — is rated higher than FlickReels in the Philippines and India, and lower in the two native-English markets. That is the opposite of what the language counts would predict.

We are not going to invent a cause for it. The sample sizes on FlareFlow’s side are small (229 ratings in India), and small samples move. What we can say is that if you are in Asia, FlareFlow being English-only is apparently not hurting it with the people who have tried it, and the language argument above may matter less to you than the raw numbers suggest.

Age, updates and what they tell you

Both apps are rated 12+, both are free to install, and both are being actively maintained. FlareFlow shipped on 29 September 2026 and FlickReels on 17 September — a difference of twelve days, which is noise rather than signal. Both are healthy on that measure.

The version numbers are more telling. FlareFlow reached 2.6.0 in eighteen months; FlickReels is on 2.3.9.0 after twenty-seven. Versioning schemes are arbitrary and we would not build an argument on them, but it is consistent with a younger product still changing shape.

Download sizes are close enough to ignore: 203 MB against 187 MB. If your phone is tight on space, neither saves you anything meaningful over the other.

Who is behind each

FlickReels is published by FARSUN PTE. LTD., a Singapore entity, under the bundle identifier com.farsun.shortplay. Its site is flickreels.net. The listing emphasises AI-assisted content alongside conventional vertical drama.

FlareFlow is published by FlareFlow Pte. Ltd., also Singapore, under tv.flareflow.drama, with flareflow.tv as its site. Our separate FlareFlow review traces its corporate ownership to COL Group, which also owns the publisher behind ReelShort — which is why we describe it as ReelShort’s sibling. That connection comes from company announcements rather than from the store listing, and we cite the sources on that page.

Both publish a company name, which is worth noting only because several services in this category do not. Our ShortPeak review covers one that takes card payments without naming any operating company at all.

Which one to install

Based on App Store figures read 3 October 2026. Both apps are free to install, so trying one costs nothing but time.

On iPhone specifically, our iOS-tested shortlist covers how both behave on Apple hardware; readers in India may also want our Indian market report, where neither of these two leads.

FlickReels for most people. Sixteen languages, nine times the rating base, higher scores in both native-English markets we checked. If you have no specific reason to prefer the other, this is the one.

FlareFlow if you are in Asia and comfortable in English. It rates higher than FlickReels in both the Philippines and India, and its English-language catalogue is its whole proposition rather than one track among sixteen.

Why you might end up with both

Short drama apps do not carry the same titles. Each licenses or produces its own catalogue, and a series you start on one cannot be finished on the other. That is why people in this category routinely keep two or three installed, which sounds wasteful until you try to find episode fourteen of something.

Both are free to install and both open every series with free episodes, so running them side by side for a week costs nothing. The money only starts when the free episodes stop — and that is where the apps differ more than their names suggest. We measured what a series actually costs across the category in our guide to the most generous free tiers.

What we could not measure

Catalogue size. Neither app publishes a verifiable title count, and we do not repeat marketing numbers we cannot check.

Google Play figures per country. Play publishes one global rating and an install bracket, with no per-country breakdown. Everything above is App Store data.

Current prices. Store tiers change and differ by market. Both apps are free to install; what the coins and subscriptions cost should be read on your own payment screen.

Download counts. Apple does not publish them. The ratios above are rating counts, which correlate with scale but are not the same thing.

Questions

Is there an app called FlickFlow?

No. We searched the Apple App Store in the United States and the Philippines on 3 October 2026 and found nothing by that name — the US results were Flickr, Insta360 and MUBI, and the Philippine search returned nothing. “FlickFlow” is a blend of two real apps, FlickReels and FlareFlow, which sit next to each other at seventh and eighth in our ranking.

What is the difference between FlickReels and FlareFlow?

The decisive one is language: FlickReels declares sixteen interface languages, FlareFlow declares one. After that it is scale — FlickReels has collected 131,273 App Store ratings across four markets against FlareFlow’s 14,113. They are separate apps from separate Singapore publishers with separate catalogues.

Which is better, FlickReels or FlareFlow?

FlickReels for most people: more languages, nine times the rating base, and higher scores in both the US (4.77 vs 4.70) and the UK (4.72 vs 4.61). FlareFlow is the better bet if you are in Asia and read English comfortably — it is rated higher in the Philippines (4.83 vs 4.77) and India (4.71 vs 4.65).

Does FlareFlow support languages other than English?

Not according to its App Store listing, which declares English only. FlickReels declares sixteen: Arabic, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Chinese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese. If you need a non-English interface, that single fact decides it.

Are FlickReels and FlareFlow the same company?

No. FlickReels is published by FARSUN PTE. LTD. (com.farsun.shortplay, flickreels.net); FlareFlow by FlareFlow Pte. Ltd. (tv.flareflow.drama, flareflow.tv). Both are Singapore entities, which is common in this category, but they are unrelated publishers. Our FlareFlow review traces its ownership to COL Group, the parent of ReelShort’s publisher.

Which app is older?

FlickReels, by nine months: released 17 July 2024 against FlareFlow’s 8 April 2025. That explains part of the ratings gap but not a nine-to-one ratio. Both are actively maintained — FlareFlow last updated 29 September 2026, FlickReels 17 September.

Are FlickReels and FlareFlow free?

Both are free to install and both open every series with free episodes. After those you pay, with coins or a subscription, and that is where the real cost sits. Neither publishes its full price list in the store listing, so read the figure on your own payment screen before buying.

Can I watch the same series on both?

Usually not. Each app licenses or produces its own catalogue, so a series you start on one generally cannot be finished on the other. That is why viewers in this category often keep two or three apps installed — and since both are free to install, running them side by side for a week costs nothing.

Is FlickReels safe to install?

It is distributed through the official App Store and Google Play, is rated 12+, names its publisher (FARSUN PTE. LTD.) and was last updated on 17 September 2026 — all the structural checks pass. As with any subscription app in this category, the thing to watch is not malware but the renewal terms. Our full review goes into what the free tier actually gives you.

Why is FlareFlow rated higher in Asia than FlickReels?

We do not know, and we are not going to guess at a cause. The fact is checkable: on 3 October 2026 FlareFlow scored 4.83 in the Philippines and 4.71 in India against FlickReels’ 4.77 and 4.65, while trailing in the US and UK. The caveat matters too — FlareFlow’s Indian score rests on 229 ratings, and small samples move.

How big are the apps to download?

FlickReels is 203 MB and FlareFlow 187 MB on iOS, as listed on 3 October 2026. The difference is not enough to matter. If storage is genuinely tight, the more useful fact is that some short drama services now run entirely in a browser with nothing installed at all — see watching without installing an app.

Where do FlickReels and FlareFlow sit in your ranking?

FlickReels is seventh with 8.9 and FlareFlow eighth with 8.8, out of 21 services. The scores are close because the apps are close; the differences that matter are language coverage and scale rather than quality. The full ranking shows what sits above and below them.
